Personal Biography
I was born on March 18, 1970, in Wellington, New Zealand, and lived there for about six months before moving to New Castle, England, for two years. When I was two-and-a-half, we moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. After two years in Minnesota, we moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I have lived ever since. I am the second of five children. My older brother and I were born in New Zealand, my younger brother was born in Minnesota, and my two sisters were born in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I began school at Elliot Elementary, before moving into the Tulsa Public School’s magnet program attending Emerson Elementary, Carver Middle School, and Booker T. Washington High School. While in high school, I was a member of the BTW swim team and served as captain my senior year. All of my brothers and sisters also attended BTW and were involved in the swim team. For our collective achievements as a swimming family, our family was inducted into the Booker T. Washington Athletic Hall of Fame.
I met my wife, Heather, following college and we were married in 1994. We have three daughters, August, Kylie, and Lily. August and Kylie attend Jenks West Elementary.
My passions are my family, the Pittsburgh Steelers and politics. We are members at Woodlake Assembly of God, where my wife and I assist with Junior Bible Quiz and other children’s programs.
