Kenneth E. Crump, Jr.
Kenneth E. Crump Jr., has been engaged in the practice of law since 1986 and, since 1996, has received an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings as having been recognized by his peers for the highest levels of skill and integrity. He has been listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers in the area of Civil Trial Practice. Mr. Crump’s trial experience pertains to contract disputes, employment issues, construction law issues, business torts, issues involving breaches of fiduciary duties, claims for fraud, property damages, product liability, issues relating to Medicaid reimbursement to providers of health care under the Federal Medicaid Act, and divorce and family law matters. He has conducted trials or arbitrations in forty-four cases (forty as lead counsel) and obtained favorable results in thirty-nine of those cases. He has obtained millions of dollars in verdicts, judgments and settlements on behalf of plaintiffs represented and secured verdicts or judgments in favor of defendants represented, exonerating them from liability in cases where they were alleged to have millions of dollars in potential exposure.
Mr. Crump’s business law experience includes serving as outside general counsel for privately-held entities. In that regard, he has advised clients on entity choice, entity formation, entity governance, sale and purchase transactions, management of non-profit entities, fiduciary duties, statutory and regulatory compliance, risk management, contract negotiation, contract review and drafting, employment issues, international trade restrictions and debtor/creditor issues.
Mr. Crump serves as an Adjunct Settlement Judge for the United States Federal Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma. He was selected and trained by the Court to serve as a court-sponsored mediator who conducts settlement conferences in various types of federal cases, on an ongoing basis. Mr. Crump is also listed in Oklahoma’s Top Rated Lawyers, 2012; and Tulsa’s Top Lawyers, 2011 and 2012 – Tulsa People Magazine.
I was raised in the southwest Oklahoma farming community of Apache. Upon graduation from high school there, I attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism. Upon graduation from OU, I worked for a company in Oklahoma City for three years until enrolling in the University of Tulsa College of Law, from which I graduated in 1986.
I am an avid musician and reader. I also enjoy a variety of outdoor activities and travel, but my favorite activity is spending time with my family.
I am a past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Oklahoma Chapter; Board of Trustees from 1996 through 2000; and Advisory Board Member since 2000; and recipient of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s, Oklahoma Chapter, Leadership Award in 2000. I served on the Executive Board of the Jenks Trojan Football Booster Club from 2001-2003, and as its Chairman from 2002-2003. Additionally, I have served as a Co-Chair and Honorary Co-Chair of the Thomas Gilcrease Museum Association Stampede Fund-Raising Event.
