Personal Biography
I was born and raised in the south side of Chicago. Do you remember that old Jim Croce song, entitled “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown”? The lyrics say:
The south side of Chicago is the baddest part of town and if you go down there, you better just beware of a man named Leroy Brown.
I grew up with hundreds of Leroy Browns. As a young boy growing up in Chicago, my dream was to play football in the Big 10. During my senior year of high school, I found myself being recruited by a number of Big 10 schools. However, through a number of fortuitous events, I ended up attending the University of Tulsa in 1973 and playing linebacker. During my senior year, the University of Tulsa football team was nationally ranked and played in the Independence Bowl. After graduation, I married my wife, Cindy, who had attended Oklahoma State University. Cindy and I have two daughters, Bridgette who is married and works in Houston, Texas as a pharmaceutical representative for Glaxo Smith Kline. Brittany graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in fashion merchandizing and is an Assistant Buyer at Miss Jacksons, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Because of my faith in Jesus Christ, my church and ministry activities have been my main focus outside of the practice of law. I served as the chairman of the deacons at my church for four years. Cindy and I were formerly the National Chair Couple for Stonecroft Ministries Couples Clubs which is an international ministry headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. I continue to speak at men’s conferences and seminars across the country.
