Biography

I was raised in Poteau, a small town in southeastern Oklahoma, where we were taught conservative values, like hard work, sacrifice, and putting others first, among other things. We participated in every activity, played every sport, rarely missed church on Sundays, and Saturdays were just another work day. I worked in my dad’s retail businesses from third grade until I graduated from high school.

I attended the University Arkansas on a football scholarship, where I received my degree in accounting. I chose business, because my dad wouldn’t allow me to major in music, a love that I developed at an early age. After obtaining my accounting degree I went on to obtain my law degree, also at my dad’s suggestion. I ultimately married my high school sweetheart, and we have been blessed with two children and three grandchildren.

I still enjoy playing music, exercising, scuba diving and taking on new challenges. But my real passion has always been helping people, which was engrained in me from a very early age. It brings me great satisfaction and joy to help people, whether helping a client solve personal or business problems, or working with others to help those who are less fortunate or in need.
